Teach Garden Club Afterschool Enrichment Class

Enjoy gardening and working with kids? We’re looking for a volunteer to lead Garden Club in an upcoming After-School Enrichment session! You should enjoy and feel comfortable leading a group of children, but plant knowledge isn’t required.

Volunteers are the heart of this program, and we deeply appreciate your time and commitment. In appreciation for volunteering, your child will receive one complimentary Enrichment class for the session, along with priority registration for additional classes.

Commitment:
Lead one 60-minute class per week for a session, typically about nine weeks. Please allow additional time for preparation, setup, and dismissal. We’ll work with you on the schedule, grade range, and class plan.

What you’ll do:
* Plan and lead gardening activities that help students explore, learn, and enjoy the school garden.
* Create a welcoming environment and set clear expectations for safe, respectful participation.
* Supervise students throughout class and use tools and materials safely.
* Work with the daily Enrichment volunteer on attendance and dismissal.
* Communicate with families and the Enrichment team as needed.
* Be consistently available on your chosen day and coordinate with the Enrichment team if you cannot attend.

Support:
Our Enrichment team will help with planning and registration, and a daily volunteer supports attendance and dismissal.

A few things to know:
* Volunteer instructors need a national background check, handled separately from SPS volunteer clearance. You can sign up now — our PTSA Enrichment team will help you complete the check before you begin.
* Volunteers must be Arbor Heights PTSA members for insurance coverage. Membership is $15 through arborheightsptsa.org.
